Naoto Takenaka (born March 20, 1956) is a Japanese actor, comedian, singer, and director from Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture affiliated with From First Production. He is married to idol singer and actress Midori Kinouchi.
He is internationally known as an actor in the movie “Shall We Dance?” He played a comical dancer, Tomio Aoki.
He made his actor debut in Academy Award Winning Director, Yojiro Takita’s “Groper Train – Search for the Black Pearl” in 1984.
He also made his directorial debut in “Munō no Hito” in 1991.
He received Venice Film Festival FIPRESCI Prize in the movie,
